- 11/15/06:Found that gridgate and adcluster file system are mounted together. Choose gridgate URL to submit jobs to adcluster.
- 11/17/06: Add the human genome hg18 database into adcluster. Use mpiformatdb to format the database for blast use.
- 11/20/06: Got a request from John Edwards, who is an research scientist at genome center, he wanted to submit some huge blast jobs to our new blast systems. He needs to run thousands of small sequences against whole human genome mutiple times.
- 11/21/06: Tried to solve the issue to blast mutiple databases with MPIBLAST. Created a perl qblast_split.pl and java class ShellUtils to automatically submit blast jobs. The script will break the query into small fragments, then submit normal blast jobs to each node through SGE. Works fine from test.
- 11/22/06 The new system has similar speed with Paracel Blaster machine according to John.
