Detailed documentation about Wiki can be found at the User Manual page. Of particular interest in there is the section titled "For Editors" which explains ways to add various types of content. A quick editing help reference section is also available. Some common Wiki editing/management tasks are briefly discussed below.

To modify the left navigation follow the link below:
MediaWiki:sidebar
and click on the "edit" tab in order to add/remove/edit the entries in the nav bar. Currently only Wiki users with admin rights can modify the navigation bar, although this setting can be changed (for a list of registered users and their right see here). Create New User Account
Go to Special:Userlogin, when logged in as a sysop. Enter a username and an email address, and click the "by email" button. The account will be created with a random password which is then emailed to the given address.
Granting User Rights
There is a simple interface (Special:Userrights) for granting a specific username 'sysop' status - a user with 'Bureaucrat' status can enter a username into this form to grant 'sysop' status to that user. A description of user statuses and their rights is found here.
