Tomcat instances for geWorkbench

Development server: afdev

all under user account cagrid (file location /ifs/data/c2b2/af_lab/cagrid):

1. apache-tomcat-8.0.24 - hosting the following geWorkbench web services. port number 9090. This is used by the production geWorkbench app (http://geworkbench.c2b2.columbia.edu/geworkbench/). Replacing the old tomcat 5.5.35. Technical description: AXIS2 Web Services

     • Hierarchical clustering
     • t-test
     • LINCS
   • Aracne
   • msviper
2. apache-tomcat-7.0.30 - "geworkbench web" application. port number 8082. tomcat 7. (Currently when you log in afdev as cagrid, this is the one pointed to by $CATALINA_HOME) Production deployment of demand/viper/index web services are also deployed on this tomcat instance. (An 'undocumented' use of this tomcat: test aracne service before it is deployed to 9090, the official one).
3. apache-tomcat-5.5.35 - web services (aracne [older version], anova, ttest, hierarchical clustering, Lincs service, all deployed through axis2, so under apache-tomcat-5.5.35/webapps/axis2/WEB-INF/services/). Thew new ARACNE service is also here, deployed separated from the others. port number 9090. Tomcat/5.5.35. (Min confirmed that there is no particular reason to use this old version. We should upgrade to tomcat 7). Technical description: AXIS2 Web Services no longer used
4. apache-tomcat-5.5.27 - caGrid serivces. port number 8080. tomcat 5.5.27. in fact not used
5. apache-tomcat-5.5.27_bhapp - abondaned

by the way port 80 is also live used by apache.

On production server cagridnode

1. this is meant to be used by CNKB servlet, but piggy-backed by other stuff

On production server web[12]

1. 'sandbox' tomcat instance on web[12] server. Special user account 'geworkbenchwb'
