System Tests

There is currently a total of 59 System Tests available. All System Tests can be found on SharePoint (ARCS SharePoint > c2b2 > head > testing) in the following four directories (which may contain sub-directories):

  • General
  • Microarrays
  • Protein Structure
  • Sequences

The System Tests were updated last for the release testing of geWorkbench 2.5.0 (September 2013).

The System Tests used for earlier versions of geWorkbench are also on Sharepoint (ARCS SharePoint > c2b2) and listed by their version number.

The results of release system tests can be found in a DB maintained by Michael Honig: http://afdev.cgc.cpmc.columbia.edu/systemtest/BrowseLogs.php

Annotation Files

A list of previous Affymetrix Annotation files (HG_U95Av2) can be found on SharePoint as well: ARCS SharePoint > c2b2 > head > testing > Affymetrix Annotations.

Files Needed for Release Testing

In order to prepare the test scripts as wells as Michael's DB for a new release testing, the following files are necessary:

  • bookmarks.doc
  • Field codes - V1.0.doc
  • system Tests.dot
  • VBscript2run.doc

They are available on SharePoint as well: ARCS SharePoint > c2b2 > head > testing

Release Test Procedure

My predecessor, Bernd Jagla, created a wiki page with a lot of detailed background information: http://wiki.c2b2.columbia.edu/informatics/index.php/System_tests He also made a recording on how to prepare and run a release system test. The directories, where these files are located, are mentioned in the Word document "Developers_Note"

Procedure

Based on Bernd's information I developed the document "Developers_Note", which can be followed in a step-by-step manner.
